The defense gave up 345 yards on the other side with 21 first downs and a rough 9-of-13 allowed on third-down conversions.
I’ll stick with Texas State. You could probably call this one either way, though. In reality I’m not touching it. The Bobcats are coming off a rough loss to James Madison, giving up 511 yards, 247 rush yards, 8.5 yards per play and 22 first downs. The offense managed 352 yards total with 20 first downs but also gave away three interceptions. Texas State had been scoring great prior to that however, with 30 or more points in four straight outings. Thing is, the Bobcats are also surrendering quite a bit on the other side. We could have a pretty big total here if both offenses show up and start trading blows right off the proverbial bat.
As for Louisiana, they had three interceptions of their own in their latest loss to Troy alongside 371 total yards and 18 first downs. The Cajuns D gave up 345 yards with 5.5 yards per play and 21 first downs on the other side. Louisiana has given up a combined 66 points in their last two games, so Texas State should have some opportunities if they can get their offense moving. That proposition is a big “if” however, so I’m probably avoiding this game.
