Tennessee Volunteers Betting Preview
The Vols beat Syracuse and East Tennessee State in their first pair before taking a loss to Georgia. Tennessee got back on the horse with wins over UAB, Mississippi State and Arkansas, then fell to Alabama before another win over Kentucky. The Volunteers would fall again on November 1 versus Oklahoma 33-27, though. In that one Tennessee gave up points in every quarter but mostly kept the pace throughout the game. The Vols had 456 total yards with 393 pass yards, 5.7 yards per play, 28 first downs and 7-of-13 on third downs, but the three turnovers killed them. The defense gave up 351 yards and had a couple of takeaways during the loss for Tennessee, and Oklahoma’s 11 penalties helped as well.
Matched up against New Mexico State last weekend, Tennessee didn’t have much trouble. The Vols scored 21 points in the first half and another 21 in the third quarter along the way to a 42-9 blowout home win. QB Joey Aguilar had 204 yards with a TD and a pick on 17-of-23 passing while also rushing in a score. DeSean Bishop led the rush with 16 carries for 80 yards and a TD, while Chris Brazzell had 65 yards on three catches for the Volunteers in their win.
Florida Gators Betting Preview
Over on the Florida side, they beat LIU ahead of losses to South Florida, LSU and Miami in the next trio. The Gators hit a 2-3 run in their next five with wins over Texas and Mississippi State among losses to Texas A&M, Georgia and Kentucky. In the 38-7 blowout loss to the Wildcats, Florida gave up 21 points in the second quarter alone. The Gators defense had four takeaways, but the offense had four turnovers to counter them. Florida gained just 247 total yards in the defeat with 17 first downs and 3.6 yards per play alongside 7-of-15 on third-down tries.
In their last outing on Saturday versus Ole Miss, Florida was up 24-20 going into the final quarter. After giving up two unanswered touchdowns though, the Gators had a tough loss 34-24. QB DJ Lagway was 16-of-31 for 218 yards, one score and a pick while also rushing eight times for 34 yards and a TD. Jadan Baugh carried 15 times for 61 yards and a score, while TJ Abrams had three catches for 76 yards in the road loss.

Tennessee vs Florida Prediction
I’ll stick with Tennessee I suppose. The Volunteers didn’t have any issues with New Mexico State in their most recent win last weekend, unless you count the two interceptions and the pretty rough 3-of-11 success rate on third-down conversion attempts. The defense did well though, logging 340 yards allowed, 27 rush yards, 4.1 yards per play, two picks and 8-of-19 on third downs. It was a decisive victory following losses in the previous three games to Alabama and Oklahoma.
This is another manageable game on paper for the Volunteers, but Florida did push a great Ole Miss team to the brink last weekend. The Gators have given up a combined 72 points in their last two outings though (both losses) so Tennessee should have some open opportunities to visit the scoreboard this weekend.
