Temple Owls Betting Preview
Temple was able to record wins in their first two outings this year, taking out UMass and Howard in that time. The Owls would then lose three of the next four to Oklahoma, Georgia Tech and Navy (with a lone win over UTSA). Following two more wins over Charlotte and Tulsa, Temple took a pair of losses to East Carolina and Army in the next pair. The result was a .500 run over the first 10 games of the year for the Owls.
Last weekend versus Tulane, the Owls were down 20-7 by the end of the first half. It didn’t get any better from there, as the Owls gave up points in every quarter during a 37-13 loss. QB Evan Simon was 21-of-32 for 168 yards and two scores while Jay Ducker led the rush on seven carries for 17 yards. Colin Chase added five catches for 59 yards and a touchdown in the losing effort.
North Texas Mean Green Betting Preview
Over on the North Texas side, they’ve done pretty well so far this year. The Mean Green opened on a five-game win streak (with a couple of overtimes in there) over Lamar, Western Michigan, Washington State, Army and South Alabama in succession. Following a loss to South Florida on October 10, North Texas got back on the winning train. They’d take out UTSA, Charlotte, Navy and UAB in the next four for a 9-1 record over 10 games.
In game 11 versus Rice last weekend, the Mean Green were trailing after the first quarter 14-7. North Texas quickly got it together though, notching double-digit points in the remaining three quarters for a 56-24 blowout win. QB Drew Mestemaker was 19-of-23 for 469 yards and three scores alongside a rush TD. Caleb Hawkins had 20 carries for 97 yards and three touchdowns and Wyatt Young added eight catches for a whopping 295 yards and two scores.

Temple vs North Texas Prediction
I’ll stick with North Texas. The Mean Green put on a clinic versus Rice (after the first quarter, anyway) with 640 total yards, 11.6 yards per play and 25 first downs. Trouble is, North Texas went just 1-of-6 on third-down tries. Defensively the team was solid as well—outside of the 296 rush yards allowed, that is. The Mean Green have now won five straight, scoring 31 or more points in each of those games. The offense is cooking right now.
As for Temple, they gained just 204 total yards, 3.6 yards per play, 14 first downs and 5-of-15 on third-down tries in their loss to Tulane last weekend. The Owls gave up 406 yards and 6.0 yards per play on the other side but did well on third downs (3-of-12). Temple has been below 15 points in three straight games now, losing all three.
