The SMU Mustangs are 5-2 (3-0) this year after they defeated Clemson by a score of 35-24 in their last game. SMU led 16-7 at halftime and they pulled away in the fourth quarter to get the victory. The Mustangs out gained Clemson by a total of 429-352, went 7-17 on third downs, and tied the turnover battle at one in the game. Wake Forest Demon Deacons Betting Preview

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are 4-2 (1-2) this season after they defeated Oregon State by a score of 39-14 in their last game. Wake Forest led 25-0 at halftime and they cruised to the easy win in the second half. The Demon Deacons out gained Oregon State by a total of 468-309, went 1-9 on third downs, and won the turnover battle by a total of 2-0 in the game. Deshawn Purdie went 14-27 for 270 yards and four touchdowns, while Demond Claiborne rushed 16 times for 144 yards and one score. The Demon Deacons have won two games in a row and they are currently tied for 11th in the ACC standings. Wake Forest has scored 29.0 points per game with 249.7 passing yards and 160.2 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 20.0 points against per game this season. Robby Ashford is the starting QB for Wake, but he is dealing with an injury, so we may see Purdie once again. SMU vs Wake Forest Prediction

SMU comes into this matchup with a 3-0 record in conference play and they just got a huge road win against Clemson last week. The Mustangs have scored at least 31 points in three straight games and should take advantage of a weak Wake Forest defense here. The Demon Deacons have won two games in a row, but they have played weaker competition and have allowed 30+ in each of their last two home games. I don’t trust the Wake Forest offense, especially if Ashford is back, so give me SMU on the road.
