San Diego State Aztecs Betting Preview
San Diego State kicked off their season with a 42-0 blowout at home over Stony Brook, but then fell big on the road versus Washington State in game two. The Aztecs would go on a nice run from there, taking out California, Northern Illinois and Colorado State in the next three games. During the 45-24 home win over the Rams, the Aztecs racked up 540 total yards, 281 rushing yards, 8.2 yards per play, 24 first downs and 7-of-11 on third-down tries. The defense gave up 355 yards on the other side with 4-of-14 on third downs in the victory effort.
In their latest outing back on October 11 versus Nevada, San Diego State posted a huge 35-0 advantage in the first half on the way to a 44-10 blowout road win. QB Jayden Denegal finished 14-of-17 for 205 yards and two scores while Lucky Sutton led the rushing attack with 16 totes for 76 yards and a TD of his own. Leading the receivers was Jordan Napier with five catches for 110 yards in total during the victory.
Fresno State Bulldogs Betting Preview
Over on the Fresno State side, they got off to a rocky start with a blowout loss to Kansas in the opener but things quickly turned around. The Bulldogs would beat Georgia Southern, Oregon State, Southern U, Hawaii and Nevada over the next five games—though some were close calls. In the win over Nevada, the Bulldogs defense held the opposition to just 246 yards, 117 pass yards, 13 first downs and 4.5 yards per play alongside four takeaways. The Fresno State offense went just 3-of-13 on third downs and had only 16 first downs in the game, though.
Back on October 10 in their most recent action on the road versus Colorado State, Fresno State was outscored by 21 points in the first half. The Bulldogs didn’t get much better from there and ended up losing 49-21 to fall to 5-2 overall. QB EJ Warner was 28-of-49 for 350 yards, three scores and three picks. Leading rusher Brandon Ramirez had seven totes for 41 yards and Josiah Freeman caught seven balls for 89 yards and two touchdowns as the team’s top receiver in the losing effort.

San Diego State vs Fresno State Prediction
I’ll stay with Fresno State. The Bulldogs need a good bounce-back effort here however, following their listless defeat by a mediocre Colorado State team in their latest outing. In addition to their four turnovers and 4-of-12 on third downs by the offense in that one, Fresno State racked up 13 penalties for 117 yards. The defense wasn’t all that bad statistically, but couldn’t generate any takeaways. That unit needs to be on point these days, as Fresno State hasn’t gotten past 23 points for three straight games.
As for San Diego State, they’ve scored 89 combined points in their last two games. That said, the Aztecs do have a couple of dud offensive performances in the books this year. Fresno State’s defense needs to show up in this one.
