The big area to keep an eye on is the defense, which only has three starters returning and a new coordinator at the helm. Getting a bowl berth will be the first step for the Aztecs, but if they can find themselves in contention among the top teams in the Pac-12 by the end of the year, it’ll be considered a big success.

As for Portland State, they had a tale of two halves in the UC Davis matchup—and came out on the losing end of it. The Vikings gave up 374 yards (287 passing) and 21 first downs while going just 5-of-16 on third downs themselves. Portland State needs to get that run game going if they’re going to contend at all in this one.
