New Mexico Lobos Betting Preview
The Lobos notched a 3-1 run over their first four games this year, losing to Michigan ahead of wins versus Idaho State, UCLA and New Mexico State. New Mexico would go 3-2 over the next five, losing to San Jose State and Boise State before wins versus Nevada, Utah State and UNLV. In the 40-35 shootout win over the Rebels, the Lobos scored 24 points in the second quarter alone. The New Mexico offense would end up with 532 total yards, 401 pass yards and 9.7 yards per play but only 16 first downs and a pretty rough 3-of-11 on third-down tries.
New Mexico last appeared versus Colorado State on Saturday. In that one the Lobos went into the fourth quarter all tied up 10-10. New Mexico posted a 10-7 run from there to eke out the home victory 20-17 in the end. QB Jack Layne was 13-of-26 for 226 yards and also rushed in a score. DJ McKinney carried 17 times for 52 yards and a TD of his own to pace the rush, and Keagan Johnson led the receivers with five grabs for 65 yards.
Air Force Falcons Betting Preview
Over on the Air Force side, they beat Bucknell in their opener then lost to Utah State, Boise State, Hawaii, Navy and UNLV after that. The Falcons would then beat Wyoming before a loss to Army and a win over San Jose State. In the victory versus the Spartans on November 8, the Falcons scored 16 points in the second quarter during a 26-16 outcome. Air Force had 302 total yards with 261 rush yards and 21 first downs in the win. The defense gave up 435 yards on the other side with three takeaways, 341 pass yards and 23 first downs along the way.
In their latest matchup versus UConn last weekend, the Falcons fell back into the loss column. Air Force gave up points in every quarter during a 26-16 defeat. QB Kemper Hodges logged 32 yards on 4-of-8 passing and lead rusher Owen Allen had 22 carries for 122 yards. Tops in receiving was Cade Harris with 25 yards on two catches for the Falcons in the defeat.

New Mexico vs Air Force Prediction
I’ll stay with New Mexico. The Lobos had some issues on offense last weekend versus a struggling Colorado State team though, so they’ve got plenty to clean up. New Mexico went just 5-of-14 on third downs with 15 first downs and a whopping four lost fumbles in the close win. The defense came up big with four takeaways and 5-of-16 allowed on third downs on the other side, though.
As for Air Force, they showed off their rather limited offensive capabilities versus UConn last weekend and couldn’t keep the Huskies in check defensively. The Falcons posted 356 total yards, 66 pass yards, 23 first downs and 4-of-10 on third downs. The defense gave up 347 yards on the other side with 18 first downs and 6-of-10 on third-down tries. Air Force has been below 18 points in two of the last three games, losing both of those. I’m not confident they’ll get it done here either.
