North Carolina State Wolfpack Betting Preview
This year the Wolfpack started out with a string of wins. NC State would dispatch East Carolina, Virginia and Wake Forest in their first three outings, but then fell to Duke and Virginia Tech in the next pair. The Wolfpack followed that up with another win however, this time over Campbell. In the victory versus the Camels, NC State racked up a whopping 607 yards—371 passing and 236 rushing—along with 10.1 yards per play and 28 first downs. The defense held Campbell to just 188 yards on the other side with 2.9 yards per play and 13 first downs.
In their latest matchup versus Notre Dame back on October 11, NC State fell back into the loss column. The Wolfpack were within a field goal going into the second half, then got blitzed 26-0 from there in a 36-7 blowout road loss. QB CJ Bailey was 17-of-30 for 186 yards, one score and three picks. Daylan Smothers added 46 yards on 12 carries as the lead rusher, and Terrell Anderson had three catches for 57 yards and a score as the top receiver in the losing effort.
Pittsburgh Panthers Betting Preview
Over on the Panthers’ side, they kicked off their campaign with a couple of blowout wins over Duquesne and Central Michigan, then took consecutive losses to West Virginia and Louisville in the next pair. Pittsburgh would recover with wins versus Boston College and Florida State from there, though. In the win over the Seminoles, Pitt scored in every quarter—and gave up points in every quarter—in a 34-31 escape on the road. The offense posted just 5-of-14 on third downs and had a couple of picks but also gained 476 yards total and 321 passing yards.
Last weekend versus Syracuse, the Panthers were up by 10 points by the break. Pittsburgh hit a 13-6 run in the second half and rode the wave to a 30-13 road victory in the end. QB Mason Heintschel finished 13-of-24 for 143 yards and one interception while also scoring on the ground. Ja’Kyrian Turner had 15 carries for 42 yards, and Kenny Johnson added four catches for a team-high 59 yards in the win.

NC State vs Pittsburgh Prediction
I’ll just stay with Pitt here, but you could call it either way. The Panthers got a solid road win over Syracuse last weekend but there’s plenty to improve on, namely the 13 penalties, 3.9 yards per play, 16 first downs and 4-of-15 effort on third-down conversions. That makes three straight wins for the Panthers with 30 or more points scored in each.
As for NC State, they fell apart in the second half of their latest loss to Notre Dame, eventually giving up 485 yards, 6.8 yards per play and 24 first downs. The Wolfpack offense had just 233 yards and 12 first downs alongside the three picks in a pretty rough outing. Prior to that NC State had been scoring well though, with 24 or more points in five of the previous six. It wouldn’t be surprising to see a fairly high total here.
