Missouri Tigers Betting Preview

The Tigers opened up the year on a great run—though there was a close call or two along the way. Missouri demolished Central Arkansas in their opener, then dispatched Kansas in game two. The Tigers followed that up with wins over Louisiana, South Carolina and UMass in the next trio of outings. In the 42-6 blowout win over UMass, the Tigers rolled to 521 offensive yards (268 rushing), 31 first downs and a nice 10-of-15 success rate on third downs.

In last weekend’s big matchup versus Alabama, Missouri played it close the whole way, scoring in every quarter (while also giving up points in every quarter) during a heartbreaker 27-24 home loss. QB Beau Pribula was 16-of-28 for 167 yards, two scores and two picks. Tops in rushing was also Pribula with 11 carries for 61 yards and another TD. Leading receiver Donovan Olugbode caught three balls for 55 yards and a touchdown in the defeat.

Auburn Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Auburn side, they kicked off their 2025 campaign with a trio of victories. The Tigers beat Baylor, Ball State and South Alabama in that span—each by double-digits. Following a seven-point loss on the road versus Oklahoma, Auburn fell again in a tough 16-10 outcome versus Texas A&M. In that matchup the Tigers offense gained just 177 yards and nine first downs, going a dismal 0-of-13 on third-down tries (and 0-of-2 on fourth downs).

Matched up against Georgia on Saturday, Auburn went into the second half with a 10-3 advantage. The Tigers wouldn’t score after that however, eventually limping to a 20-10 home loss. QB Jackson Arnold was 19-of-31 for 137 yards and also led the rush with 13 totes for 55 yards and a TD. Cam Coleman was the leading team receiver on seven catches for 50 yards in the loss.

Missouri vs Auburn Prediction

I’ll stay with Missouri, but you could make a case either way here. It’ll be an interesting matchup. The Tigers offense wasn’t great against a very talented Alabama defense last weekend, notching 330 total yards, 15 first downs, 1-of-10 on third-down conversions and two picks. The defense held the Tide to 325 yards, 4.3 yards per play and 6-of-15 on third downs but also gave up 3-of-3 on fourth downs. The 24 points was Missouri’s lowest total of the year so far; they’re normally a very solid scoring team this season.

As for Auburn, they notched 277 yards, 4.1 yards per play and 8-of-17 on third downs in their 10-point loss to Georgia and could basically do nothing after halftime. The 11 penalties for 103 yards really put a damper on any momentum as well. The defense was pretty solid, all things considered, giving up 291 yards (212 passing), 21 first downs and 5-of-14 on third-down tries. Auburn is about to finish off a four-game gauntlet against nationally-ranked teams; they’ve lost the first three with 17 or fewer points scored in each but have remained competitive in all three as well. I like this one to be a solid matchup also.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Missouri Tigers +2.5
