The offense was otherwise good though (427 total yards) and the defense held New Mexico State to just 3.9 yards per play alongside three takeaways. That makes seven straight wins for the Owls, but a few of those have been close.

As for Jacksonville State, they were penalty-happy themselves (11 for 66 yards) in their win over UTEP last weekend but got the win with 275 rush yards. The Gamecocks have 24 or more points in eight straight games now, so this may be a high total in the end.
