Illinois Fighting Illini Betting Preview
The Fighting Illini kicked off the season on a nice run, powering out wins in three straight games over Western Illinois, Duke and Western Michigan. Illinois was demolished in a road game versus Indiana 63-10, but then bounced back with a 34-32 win over USC. Game six was another victory, this time over Purdue. In the win versus the Boilermakers, Illinois scored a whopping 27 points in the second quarter alone. The offense went just 2-of-11 on third downs but also amassed 390 passing yards as part of 507 yards total.
In their latest outing versus Ohio State back on October 11, Illinois fell back into the loss column again. The Illini were pummeled 20-3 in the first half and gave up points in every quarter on the way to a 34-16 result at home. QB Luke Altmyer went 30-of-44 for 248 yards, one TD and one pick, while leading rusher Aidan Laughery carried eight times for 50 yards and a touchdown. Tops in receiving during the loss was Cole Rusk with five catches for 68 yards. Hank Beatty added six catches for 48 yards in the losing effort as well.
Washington Huskies Betting Preview
Over on the Huskies’ side, they kicked off the season with a nice three-game run of their own. Washington took out Colorado State, UC Davis and Washington State during that trio, then fell to Ohio State in game four. The Huskies would recover in the next pair with wins over Maryland and Rutgers, though. In the win versus the Scarlet Knights, Washington amassed 579 total yards, 402 passing yards, 9.8 yards per play and 26 first downs. The defense gave up 493 yards on the other side with just 5-of-15 allowed on third downs.
Back on Saturday versus Michigan, Washington had things all tied up 7-7 going into the second half. The Huskies were blanked 17-0 the rest of the way however, resulting in a road loss 24-7. QB Demond Williams had a 20-of-32 line for 209 yards and three picks, while leading rusher Jonah Coleman had 16 carries for 50 yards and the lone score. Denzel Boston chipped in with four catches for 71 yards in the losing effort.

Illinois vs Washington Prediction
I’ll stay with Washington. The Huskies need to recover from a pretty flat road effort versus Michigan last weekend, though. In addition to the three picks, Washington generated just 40 rushing yards, 14 first downs and 5-of-12 on third-down conversion attempts. Needless to say, it wasn’t their greatest game of the year. That said, the Huskies normally score pretty well and their defense can keep most teams in relative check.
As for Illinois, they’ve had some extra time to rest and prep following their home loss to Ohio State. The Illini offense was pretty ugly in that one, posting 295 yards (47 rushing), 4-of-14 on third downs and three turnovers. On the other side the Buckeyes weren’t overwhelming; just steady. If Washington can set the tone on offense early here—and flummox Illinois on defense—I like the Huskies to come out favorably cover-wise on their home territory Saturday.
