Maine Black Bears Betting Preview
After an opener win over Colgate, the Black Bears fell to Montana State and Monmouth before rebounding with wins versus Merrimack and Albany. Maine would fall in a blowout to Delaware 44-21, then took out Villanova 35-7 in a blowout of their own.
In the Rhode Island game last weekend, the Bears held a brief 7-0 lead after the first quarter but ultimately lost 24-14. Carter Peevy threw for 279 yards and a touchdown. Brian Santana-Fis led the rushing attack on 15 carries for 89 yards and a TD of his own.
Oklahoma Sooners Betting Preview
Over on the Oklahoma side, they posted a 3-1 record over their first four with wins over Temple, Houston, and Tulane before a loss to Tennessee. The Sooners beat Auburn 27-21, then fell to Texas and South Carolina in the next pair.
Last Saturday versus Ole Miss, Oklahoma had a 14-10 halftime lead but couldn’t score from there in a 26-14 defeat. QB Jackson Arnold had 182 yards with two scores, and Jovantae Barnes led the rush with 16 carries for 67 yards. Barnes also led the receivers with five catches for 57 yards.

Maine vs Oklahoma Prediction
I might take a stab at Maine here. Probably not touching it, though. The Bears didn’t play terribly against a good Rhode Island team in their last outing but had trouble keeping pace for most of the game. Maine finished with 336 total yards (57 rushing) and went 8-of-17 on third-down tries. The defense gave up 321 yards (202 passing) and couldn’t generate any takeaways.
As for Oklahoma, they lost a couple of fumbles along the way to 329 yards (182 passing) in their loss to Ole Miss over the weekend. The Sooners gave up 6.2 yards per play and 380 total yards (311 passing) but held a good 5-of-13 success rate on third downs defensively. Maine shouldn’t pose too much of a threat, but I think the Black Bears can hang in there and cover if they can move the chains a few times.
