Purdue got off to a pretty easy start this year, demolishing Indiana State 49-0. The next week the Boilermakers came back to reality with a 66-7 blowout loss to Notre Dame, then fell to Oregon State 38-21 in game three.

Last weekend versus Nebraska, Purdue played close until the fourth quarter where they were outscored 21-7 in a 28-10 loss. QB Hudson Card finished with 174 yards, one TD, and one interception. Leading receiver Jaron Tibbs logged five catches for 46 yards.

Wisconsin Badgers Betting Preview

Over on the Wisconsin side, they posted a couple of victories to start out the season. The Badgers beat Western Michigan 28-14 then took care of South Dakota 27-13. On September 14 Wisconsin fell in a blowout to Alabama for their first defeat of the year.

In the USC game, the Badgers actually had a 21-10 lead going into the third quarter. Wisconsin was spanked in the second half 28-0 however, and lost 38-21. Braedyn Locke posted 180 pass yards, one TD, and one interception in the defeat. Tawee Walker rushed 12 times for 55 yards and two scores.

Purdue vs Wisconsin Prediction

I’m leaning toward Wisconsin, but I could probably go either way. The Badgers couldn’t muster much offensive prowess in their loss to USC over the weekend. Wisconsin came up with 286 total yards (180 passing), 13 first downs, 2-of-12 on third- and fourth-down tries, seven penalties, and two turnovers. On defense, the Badgers got three takeaways but also gave up 29 first downs with 11-of-17 on third-down tries and 40:07 in time of possession.

As for Purdue, they could post only 224 yards (174 passing) and 12 first downs versus Nebraska in their loss last weekend. The 13 penalties for a whopping 165 yards didn’t help either, but it was a sloppy game overall (Nebraska had 11 penalties for 94 yards). This one should be a pretty interesting matchup, but I like the Badgers to cover at home.
