Tulane Green Wave Betting Preview
Tulane’s 2024 year began with a game versus Southeastern Louisiana. Tulane scored double-digit points in every quarter in that one on the way to a 52-0 blowout win. Darian Mensah threw for 205 yards and a pair of scores. Leading the receivers was Mario Williams on four grabs for 124 yards.
In game two versus Kansas State, Tulane put up a good fight versus a tough opponent. The Wave were up 20-10 by halftime but ultimately fell 34-27 after a cold second half. Mensah had 342 yards, two scores, and a pick in the loss, while Williams caught six balls for 128 yards.
Oklahoma Sooners Betting Preview
Over on the Oklahoma side, they kicked off their year against Temple. The Sooners had a 34-0 lead by halftime and rolled to a 51-3 result. Jackson Arnold threw for 141 yards and four scores. Bauer Sharp caught one of those TDs among his five grabs for 47 yards.
Oklahoma played Houston in their matchup last weekend. In that one, the Sooners were in the locker room with a 14-6 lead. Oklahoma had to scramble for an eventual 16-12 win to stay undefeated. Arnold had 174 yards with two scores and a pick this time. Deion Burks led the receivers on nine grabs for 53 yards.

Tulane vs Oklahoma Prediction
I’m leaning toward Tulane. The Wave posted a scrappy effort against a very good Kansas State team last weekend but ultimately fell short after drying up in the second half. Tulane had 491 total yards (342 passing) and 21 first downs but went just 5-of-13 on third-down tries with a pair of turnovers. The nine penalties for 80 yards also hurt their cause. Defensively Tulane was pretty solid outside of stopping the run (215 yards allowed on the ground) and not generating any takeaways.
As for Oklahoma, they escaped a pretty meager offensive outing versus a stout Houston team in their last game. The Sooners had just 249 total yards (174 passing) and went 4-of-14 on third downs. Oklahoma will likely focus on the run this week (just 75 rush yards versus Houston) and if Tulane can slow them down I think the Wave can cover.
