In the first game of the season Nebraska was able to beat UTEP 40-7 and in the last game against Colorado they beat up also winning 28-10. Against Colorado, the 28-10 final score didn’t really show how well they played and they could have run up the score if they wanted. Against the Buffaloes, quarterback Dylan Raiola completed 23 of his 30 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown. Running back Dante Dowdell rushed 17 times for 74 yards and two touchdowns. 

Rahmir Johnson also finished with four catches for 49 yards and a touchdown. The defense is aggressive and they made life tough on the Colorado offense. In this game, a couple of turnovers created would go a long way. 

Is Northern Iowa in Trouble?

Northern Iowa might have a 2-0 record, but look at who they have played. In the first game against Valparaiso, they were able to secure the 35-7 victory, but in the last game St. Thomas they were really tested, even though they won 17-10. Northern Iowa needed 10 points in the 4th quarter to pick up the win. Northern Iowa is a run-first team, but they are going to need better quarterback play if they want a chance here. 

Aidan Dunne completed 11 of his 25 passes for 99 yards. Tye Edwards ran wild though and finished with 15 carries for 141 yards. The defense did have some struggles stopping the run, and the defense is going to need to try and focus on that.

Northern Iowa is a strong running team and they are going to find at least a little success here. Northern Iowa doesn’t really have the defense to slow down Nebraska, but if Nebraska didn’t run up the score against Colorado, they aren’t going to run up the score against Northern Iowa.
