Nevada Looks to Bounce Back
Nevada has played three games already this year and they have only one win. In the first game of the year, Nevada was beaten by SMU 29-24. In the middle game, Nevada faced off against Troy and they were able to secure the 28-26 victory. In the last game against Georgia Southern, though, Nevada scored 17 points, but the defense gave up 20 points.
At the end of the first quarter, Nevada was up 14-7 but in the last three quarters, they only scored three points. Brendon Lewis completed 23 of his 35 passes for 271 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. Lewis also had 18 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown. In this game, the offense is going to need to be better. They can’t expect to score 17 points here and come away with a victory.
Minnesota Dominated in the Last Game
Minnesota is a missed field goal away from being 2-0 with a big win over North Carolina. Instead, they missed the field goal and now they sit with a 1-1 record. In the first game of the season, Minnesota lost to North Carolina 19-17 but in the last game against Rhode Island, they were able to secure a 48-0 victory. Max Brosmer showed some yips in the first game, but in the last game, he looked better.
Brosmer completed 24 of his 30 passes for 271 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Darius Taylor missed the first game because of injury, but he was back in the last game and he finished with 14 carries for 64 yards and a touchdown. Freshman Koi Perich picked off a pass and he should continue to get more playing time.
Nevada vs Minnesota Prediction
This might be a real sweater but Minnesota is going to come out with a victory here. The Minnesota defense is elite and they are going to lockdown here. The Nevada offense isn’t good and they are going to really struggle to get any sort of offense going here and that is going to be the difference. Minnesota is going to get another big game from Bosmer and they will score at least 30 points here. Nevada won’t get over 10 points, and this game is going to be a comfortable victory. Back Minnesota against the spread.
