Eastern Michigan Looks for a Bounce Back

In the first game Eastern Michigan faced off against UMass and they were able to secure the 28-14 victory. In the last game against Washington though the offense scored only nine points while the defense gave up 30 points, and that led to the defeat. In the second quarter, they gave up 21 points, in the other three quarters the defense was actually strong. 

They allowed Will Rogers to throw for four touchdowns and they are going to need the defense to be better here. Cole Snyder completed 16 of his 27 passes for 129 yards. He didn’t find the end zone once, and they need to find a way to get the offense moving more. In the first game, he threw for 241 yards and a touchdown and they are going to need that type of offensive production back. The defense was also strong against UMass and they are going to need the defense to lockdown. 

Why Eastern Michigan Will Beat Jacksonville State

Slow Start for Jacksonville State

There were high expectations heading into the season for Jacksonville State but the first two games have been a problem. Jacksonville State lost to Coastal Carolina 55-27 in the first game and in the last game against Louisville, they were defeated 49-14. The offense hasn’t been great but the defense has been the major issue and if they want to find success in this game they are going to need the defense to step up in a big way. 

Against Louisville they allowed Tyler Shough to throw for 394 yards and two touchdowns, and they can’t let that type of offensive production through the air. Under center for Jacksonville State was Tyler Huff who completed 17 of his 27 passes for 160 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He is going to need to be better, but if the defense struggles it probably won’t matter much how well he does. 

Jacksonville State vs Eastern Michigan Prediction

Eastern Michigan’s offense isn’t going to find as much success as the first two teams playing against Jacksonville State did, but they are still going to find enough success to cover the spread. This Jacksonville State defense is awful and they are going to really struggle to slow anyone down. Eastern Michigan is going to get good quarterback play from Cole Snyder and that is going to be the difference here as Eastern Michigan is going to get the job done.
