Albany Opened up With a Win

Albany faced off against the LIU Sharks in the first game and they were able to secure the 27-21 victory. It was a big second and third quarter for the offense that was the difference as they were able to secure the victory. The defense wasn’t awful, but the defense is going to need to be a whole lot better. Myles Burkett was under center for the Great Danes and he completed 12 of his 26 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown. Griffin Woodell finished with 20 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown. Seven McGee was a weapon out wide and he caught five passes for 119 yards and a touchdown. 

West Virginia Rocked in First Game

West Virginia really believed they could find success against Penn State but it was an ugly game. West Virginia scored only 12 points, but the defense gave up 34 points and that led to the defeat. At halftime, they were down 20-66 and in the second half, they didn’t make up any ground. Garrett Greene completed 15 of his 28 passes for 161 yards. The running game had some major issues getting going. CJ Donaldson finished with 12 carries for 42 yards and a touchdown.

On defense, West Virginia is going to need a whole lot better. They allowed Drew Allar to get whatever they wanted through the air, and they really need the defense to step up in a huge way here. 

Albany vs West Virginia Prediction

West Virginia is the better team and there is little doubt they are going to win, but Albany is going to find a way to keep this at least close enough to cover. The West Virginia defense is a major problem and they are going to be a problem again here.
