Eastern Michgian Looks for Winning Season

Eastern Michigan last year finished with a 6-7 record but they believe they have what it takes to get back to a winning season. Far too often last season the Eastern Michigan offense would struggle, but they believe this year they have a difference maker under center. Cole Snyder is in from Buffalo and he’s a huge upgrade at quarterback. At times turnovers could be an issue for him, and the hope is those can be cleaned up. On the defensive side of the ball, Eastern Michigan hopes for less terrible games. In three of the last five games, Eastern Michigan gave up at least 45 points and that isn’t typical for an Eastern Michigan team. Last season Eastern Michigan didn’t get on of pass rush on their opponents but they believe they have the pieces in place to be better here.

UMass moves to the MAC next season and many are waiting for that move to happen. A lot of people don’t really know what to expect from this team, this year, and that could make for this game hard to bet. Taisun Phommachanh will be the starter to start the season at quarterback, but there is no guarantee he’s going to be the starter all season. He is going to need to have a big game to keep the starting job. The top running back from last year has moved onto Michigan State and the running back room is very young this season. 

On the defensive side, Umass is going to need to be a whole lot better. They allowed 356 yards per game and they are going to need to be better here. Last season the pass rush had some major issues, and they are going to need the pass rusher to be better here. If they can’t get the pass rush going, this is going to be a long game.
