Lafayette Leopards Betting Preview
The Leopards had their ups and downs last year, ultimately ending the season on a tough defeat. Lafayette went 9-3 overall with a 5-1 run in the Patriot League, earning co-champion honors with Holy Cross. The Leopards ended up losing their Division I First Round matchup versus Delaware 36-34, though.
Lafayette gets head coach John Troxell back for his third season at the helm in 2024. The pressure is ratcheted up a notch after a good showing in the Patriot League last year. That said, Lafayette does have some notable losses including linebacker Billy Schaeffer, who led the team in stops with 83 last season.

The Bulls kick off the Pete Lembo era this year, and honestly the expectations aren’t very high. Buffalo was ranked in 10th place among MAC teams in the preseason coaches’ poll, ahead of only Akron and Kent State.

Lafayette vs Buffalo Prediction
I might take a stab on Buffalo here. Probably just avoiding this one, though. The Bulls certainly have their work cut out for them after a tough season in 2023. Buffalo averaged a tepid 318.8 yards per game last year and gave up 367.1 yards per game on the other side. The good news is that the offensive line looks strong in Buffalo this year, as does the secondary.
Lafayette’s defense should still be pretty darn good, relatively speaking. The Bulls are going to have to keep the chains moving and dictate the tempo on offense. That may be a tall task for the first game of the season but if all goes well I think Buffalo covers here.
