Aces Looking For Bounce Back After Horrendous Showing
A’Ja Wilson led the Aces with 19 points on 8 of 15 shooting with 4 rebounds and 4 assists while Jackie Young added 12 points with 6 rebounds and 3 assists. NaLyssa Smith chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds of her own while Chennedy Carter added 10 points on 5 of 8 shooting to cap off the scoring in double figures for the Aces in the losing effort. Chelsea Gray also added 4 points with a team-high 6 assists as well in the defeat.
Los Angeles Sparks Team Preview
The Los Angeles Sparks enter the 2026 season in absolute win-now mode as they look to snap a frustrating five-year playoff drought. Last year, the Sparks showed some signs of life behind star guard Kelsey Plum, who averaged 19.5 points in her first season in L.A., but they ultimately missed the postseason once again, finishing the year at 21-23, due to a defense that finished with the third-worst rating in the league. To fix their defensive identity, the front office made massive moves in the offseason to bring back Nneka Ogwumike alongside veteran defender Ariel Atkins. Pairing these proven veterans with Dearica Hamby and a healthy Cameron Brink, who is hoping to have her ACL injury in the past, gives teh Sparks one of the deeper frontcourts in the WNBA. Only time will tell if Plum can balance her aggressive scoring with traditional playmaking duties to enter the MVP conversation, and if this revamped, high-experience roster can finally tighten up on defense to secure a long-awaited playoff return for Los Angeles in 2026.

Las Vegas Aces vs. Los Angeles Sparks Prediction
I’m on the over in this one. I just don’t think the Aces stay down for long especially when you get a sluggish offensive showing like the one we saw on Saturday, while this is the best and healthiest version of the Los Angeles Sparks we’ve seen in some time. I think the scoring will be fast and furious in this game on Sunday so give me the over here.
