Sixth seed Linda Noskova will face World No. 81 Moyuka Uchijima in the first round of the 2025 Tokyo Open on Monday, October 20. Here’s our Linda Noskova vs Moyuka Uchijima prediction. This preview will also include a Linda Noskova vs Moyuka Uchijima pick.

Linda Noskova vs Moyuka Uchijima Preview

Linda Noskova is the No. 6 seed and is competing in Tokyo for a second time. Noskova lost in the round of 16 on her debut two seasons ago. Noskova has compiled 36 wins and 25 losses in 2025. She is currently ranked as World No. 17 – her current career high.

Some of Noskova’s best results have been on hard courts. She was a semifinalist in Abu Dhabi and a quarterfinalist in Dubai, but it was in the Asian swing where Noskova delivered her biggest high point of the season.

The Czech reached her first WTA 1000 in Beijing in a week where she beat two top 10 players. Noskova lost to Anisimova in the title match. Noskova has since reached last 16 in Wuhan and shockingly lost her opening match to Katie Boulter in Osaka.

Moyuka Uchijima is competing at her home tournament in Tokyo for the third time in the main draw. Last year, she won her opening match but lost in the next round to Qinwen Zheng. Uchijima is ranked No. 81 in the rankings, which is a long way off from her career high of No. 47.

Uchijima has compiled 24 wins and 30 losses in 2025. At one point, she lost 10 successive matches and that massively affected her ranking. Her best results this season have been on clay courts, where she made back-to-back quarterfinals in Rouen and the Madrid Open, and in the latter, she beat the likes of Ons Jabeur, Ekaterina Alexandrova and Jessica Pegula. Uchijima has lost in each of her last two matches.

Linda Noskova vs Moyuka Uchijima Head-To-Head

Noskova and Uchijima have never played at this level before.

Linda Noskova vs Moyuka Uchijima Prediction

Noskova’s defeat to Boulter in Osaka was a major shock, and it doesn’t help that she has to face a home player in Uchijima who is very much capable of flipping the script of raising her level on home turf. This match should tell us whether Noskova’s recent loss was just a blip or if she has succumbed to burnout, as is the case with most players who have shut down their seasons.

Nur Said's Pick: Noskova in three sets
