Here’s our Sebastian Korda vs Miomir Kecmanovic prediction. This preview will also include a Sebastian Korda vs Miomir Kecmanovic pick.
Sebastian Korda vs Miomir Kecmanovic Preview
Sebastian Korda is through to the Winston-Salem quarterfinals. He’s coming off a three-set win over Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak, which took 32 games to decide. Korda lost the first set in a tie-break after 53 minutes, but was the first to break serve in the second set, which he won 6-3. Korda broke Majchrzak early in the third set and did not lose his own service games for the entire match, wrapping up a 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 win in two hours and 10 minutes.
Korda hit an impressive 51 winners to 22 unforced errors. That included 19 aces and only two double faults. Korda landed 55% of first serves in play and won 82% of first serve points (46/56). He won 59% of second serve points (27/46) and saved six of seven break points in the match. Korda will contest his third quarterfinal of 2025. He reached the final in Adelaide, but lost at this stage to Novak Djokovic in Miami. Korda improves to 13-10 for the season, having returned from a two-month injury layoff. Korda was a semifinalist in his only previous visit to Winston-Salem.
Miomir Kecmanovic took care of Italy’s World No. 34 Luciano Darderi in the other last 16 match to make the Winston-Salem quarterfinals. Kecmanovic won in straight sets in a match that took 16 games to decide and lasted under an hour. Kecmanovic recovered from a slow start in which he dropped his opening service game. He broke Darderi twice to turn the set around and win it 6-3. The second set was largely one-sided, with Darderi only managing one service hold. Kecmanovic wrapped up the set 6-1 to reach his first Winston-Salem quarterfinal.
Kecmanovic hit 12 winners to 11 unforced errors in the match. He accounted for five aces and one double fault. Kecmanovic landed 61% of first serves in play and won 92% of first serve points (23/25). The Serbian won 38% of second serve points (6/16) and only faced one break point in the match. Kecmanovic is now 15-10 on hard courts this season, having won each quarterfinal he has contested this year.
Sebastian Korda vs Miomir Kecmanovic Head-To-Head
Korda and Kecmanovic have met twice on the ATP Tour. Kecmanovic won their first meeting at 2022 Miami in straight sets. Korda got his revenge this year in Adelaide, winning their semifinal match 6-3, 7-6.
Sebastian Korda vs Miomir Kecmanovic Prediction
I’m leaning towards Korda here. He’s got weight in his shot to hit through Kecmanovic and has quickly regained his mobility and clutch play after his injury. I still think Kecmanovic will at least force one 7-5 or tie-break set, but Korda’s exceptional serving will give him that extra authority to win the bigger points. Give me Korda for a spot in the Winston-Salem semis.
