Svitolina landed 53% of first serves and won 68% of first serve points (34/50). The 23rd seed won 55% of second serve points (24/44) and saved one of three break points. Svitolina compiled 46% of return points (39/84) and converted five of 12 break points.

It is Svitolina’s second quarterfinal in Indian Wells and her first since 2019. Svitolina has won nine of 13 matches this season.

Here’s a little fun fact. All three of Andreeva’s defeats this season have been to players with a surname that begins with an S (Sabalenka twice and Sramkova). But here’s the more relevant stat. It’s a match that gets Svitolina pumped up and she always raises her level.
