Jakub Mensik vs Miomir Kecmanovic Preview
Jakub Mensik is the seventh seed in Beijing. This will be his second main draw appearance at the China Open. Mensik lost in the first round as a qualifier to Francisco Cerundolo when he competed on his debut last year. Still, he had a productive stay in Asia and reached the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters just a week later. This year, Mensik has gone from strength to strength, establishing himself among the tour’s elite players. He is a Masters champion, after beating Novak Djokovic in Miami and has broken into the Top 20 for the first time. He is ranked 19th in the current rankings and has compiled 32 wins to 20 losses. Mensik last competed at the Laver Cup in San Francisco, where he won two matches (one in singles and the other in doubles), but couldn’t prevent Team World from winning the title.
Miomir Kecmanovic is ranked 46th in the ATP rankings, which is nearly 20 spots down from his career-high. The Serbian has compiled 24 wins to 24 losses in 2025. His best result of the season was winning the Delray Beach Open back in February, where he saved match points in the final against Davidovich Fokina.
Kecmanovic has also reached the semifinals of Adelaide, quarterfinals at Winston-Salem and the third round of Wimbledon. He last competed at the Davis Cup, where he scored a singles win over Ergi Kirkin, but hasn’t won on tour since beating Luciano Darderi at Winston-Salem.

Jakub Mensik vs Miomir Kecmanovic Prediction
Kecmanovic has the edge in experience, but he can be outplayed by power-hitting youngsters, and that was the case at the US Open, where the Serbian fell to Joao Fonseca in straight sets. Mensik embodies the same aggressive baseline play as the Brazilian and has a lethal serve that guarantees him some important holds during the match. This is the type of contest where the Mensik’s strengths will shine, especially if it gets tight as it did when they played in Vienna last year.Nur Said's Pick: Jakub Mensik in three sets
