Alexander Zverev will face Francisco Cerundolo in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Miami Open on Thursday, March 26. Here’s our Alexander Zverev vs Francisco Cerundolo prediction. This preview will also include an Alexander Zverev vs Francisco Cerundolo pick.

Alexander Zverev vs Francisco Cerundolo Preview

Alexander Zverev won the big-serving contest against Quentin Halys in the last round to make it to the Miami Open quarterfinals for the fifth time in his career. The match needed two tiebreak sets, with neither player dropping their serve in all 26 games of the encounter. Zverev, who had two match points at 5-4 up on the Halys serve, eventually prevailed 7-6, 7-6 in an hour and 46 minutes.

In the victory, Zverev hit 16 aces and accounted for only one double fault. He landed 64% of first serves in play and won 88% of first serve points (43/49). Zverev won 52% of second serve points (14/27) and did not face a break point on serve. He created six break points on the return, but could not convert any.

Before this round, Zverev had beaten Martin Damm and Marin Cilic. He had lost one set in three matches. Zverev improves to 14-4 for the season. He has reached the Miami semifinals twice in his career and was a finalist in 2018.

Francisco Cerundolo kept up his excellent track record of deep runs at the Miami Open with a straight sets win over Ugo Humbert. Fresh from his big win over Daniil Medvedev earlier in the tournament, Cerundolo dominated Humbert to win 6-4, 6-3 in an hour and 18 minutes.

In the victory, Cerundolo hit 3 aces and 1 double fault. He landed 69% of first serves in play and won 89% of first serve points (31/35). Cerundolo won 44% of second serve points (7/16) and broke serve three times in the match. Cerundolo improves to 14-5 for the season. This is his fourth quarterfinal in five participations at the Miami Open.

Alexander Zverev vs Francisco Cerundolo Head-To-Head

Zverev and Cerundolo are tied at 3 wins apiece in the head-to-head. Zverev has won their last three matches after starting this series 0-3 against the Argentine.

Alexander Zverev vs Francisco Cerundolo Prediction

There is massive value in Cerundolo here. This is one of his most productive venues on tour and I think he will challenge Zverev and likely put in a better performance than at the Australian Open, where he lost in straight sets. We must not forget that Cerundolo once led this series 3-0. Such short odds as a favorite don’t justify backing Zverev, who has already lost twice against players outside the Top 10 this season.

Nur Said's Pick: Francisco Cerundolo in three sets
