Alexander Zverev secured a comeback win against Matteo Arnaldi to reach the last 16 in Acapulco. The German prevailed 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 in two hours and 46 minutes.

He failed to make the semis or finals in two South American clay-court tournaments despite being the heavy favorite. Zverev is an elite player, make no mistake about it, and by his own words, the best player not to win a Grand Slam, but he’s still prone to inconsistencies particularly when playing against sharp players with decent tennis acumen like Tien who can throw him off his game.
