Alexander Zverev and Casper Ruud meet in the group stage of the 2024 Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, Italy. The match is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Here's our Alexander Zverev and Casper Ruud prediction. This article will also contain an Alexander Zverev and Casper Ruud pick.
Alexander Zverev Preview
Alexander Zverev kicked off his 2024 ATP Finals campaign and his hunt for a third title at the season finale with a straight sets win over Andrey Rublev.
The match took 20 games to decide and lasted an hour and 13 minutes.
In the victory, Zverev hit 9 aces and zero double faults. The German landed 70% of first serves and won 80% of first-serve points (28/35).
Zverev won 80% of second-serve points (12/15) and never faced a break point in the whole match.
It's now six wins in a row for the big serving World No. 2 who captured the Paris Masters over a week ago.
Casper Ruud Preview
Casper Ruud, meanwhile, defeated reigning Roland Garros and Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets.
It is the most shocking result of the tournament so far and which took 19 games to decide.
The match lasted about 90 minutes with Ruud taking advantage of an ill Alcaraz to pull off his first win in their series.
Ruud finished the match with 5 aces, 68% of first serves in, and 68% of first-serve points won (34/50).
He also won 58% of second-serve points (14/24) and crucially, saved 5 of 6 break points in the contest.
Alexander Zverev vs Casper Ruud Head-To-Head
• Alexander Zverev leads Casper Ruud 3-2 in their head-to-head.
• Zverev won their only meeting of 2024 at this year's Roland Garros in four sets.
Alexander Zverev vs Casper Ruud Prediction
For Ruud, he couldn't have asked for a better start to the tournament having been written off from getting out of the group. He played clutch tennis at times against an unhealthy Alcaraz and I questioned where this version of the Norwegian had been in the second half of the season (just two wins since the US Open). But it doesn't look like that fabulous win has titled the markets here as Ruud is a massive +450 beat Zverev. The German is clearly the player with all the momentum and brimming with confidence after his recent run of results on indoor hard courts.
