-Recent Betting trends and streaks involving New Jersey

-Recent betting trends in games played between Anaheim and New Jersey

-A summary that ties it all together produces a favorable betting outcome for Today’s Game between the Devils and Ducks.

The home team has won the last two games between these two teams. When these two teams faced off earlier this season it was the Devils that secured the 6-2 victory.

How Do the Devils Bounce Back?

The Devils had won three games in a row before losing the last game against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Devils scored two goals but it wasn’t enough with the way the defense played. The defense gave up four goals in the last game and they can’t have the late collapse again in this game. The defense allowed way too many shots on goal and Jake Allen only saved 36 of the 40 of them. Paul Cotter and Andrej Palat scored the two goals for the Devils. The Devils offense only managed 23 shots on goal and that is going to need to be better. The Devils are averaging 3.33 goals while their defense is giving up 2.551 goals per game.

The offense is ranked 8th in the league while the defense is ranked 2nd. The stats overall for this team are strong and even before the last loss, they were playing pretty well. As a team, they have a save percentage of 90.1 percent which is 10th best in the league. Jesper Bratt has been the top player for the Devils scoring 14 goals and adding 33 assists. Jake Allen is expected to get the start in goal and this season he has a 5-6-1 record and is giving up 2.9 goals per game.

Why the Devils Will Beat the Ducks

  • The Ducks have lost each of their last 10 night games at Honda Center following a home win.
  • The Devils have won four of their last five road games following a road loss.
  • The Devils have covered the puck line in six of their last seven games as favorites.
  • The Ducks have failed to cover the puck line in three of their last four games at Honda Center following a home win.
  • The Devils have won the third period in each of their last four games following a road loss.

The Ducks are Awful

There is no other way to put it, this Ducks team is awful, but they are coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season. The Ducks scored five goals and that was enough for the two-goal victory over the Edmonton Oilers. Robby Fabbri, Cutter Gauthier, and Mason McTavish all scored a goal and added an assist. Lukas Dostal was in goal and he wasn’t exactly dominant but he did enough to win the game saving 20 of the 23 shots that he faced. They finished with 32 shots on goal.

The Ducks on the season are averaging 2.45 goals while their defense is giving up 3.09 goals per game. The offense is ranked 31st while the defense is ranked 17th. Troy Terry has scored 10 goals and added 17 assists so far this season. Lukas Dostal is expected to get the start for the Ducks and he has a 9-10-3 record and is giving up 2.75 goals per game.

New Jersey Devils vs Anaheim Ducks Prediction

The Ducks sure looked impressive with the offense in the last game, but we can’t let that fool you, his offense overall this season hasn’t been good, and I don’t think in this game, they are going to magically figure it out for their second game in a row. The Ducks overall are averaging only 2.45 goals per game. They also are going to have the worst goaltender in this game with Lukas Dostalon in the back end.

The Devils’ offense has been strong all season averaging 3.33 goals per game and their offense is going to get out to a fast start here. The Devils are going to score at least five goals here, and the Ducks are going to struggle to even get two goals. This will be a comfortable win. Back the Devils on the puck line to cash.

Shane Mickle's Pick: New Jersey Devils -1.5
