In this article, we will formulate a Philadelphia Flyers vs Vancouver Canucks prediction for this NHL game on Friday, October 11th at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Philadelphia Flyers Betting Preview

The Philadelphia Flyers were 38-33-11 last year and finished with 87 points, which put them in sixth place in the Metropolitan Division. Philadelphia was trying to get into the race for a spot in the postseason, but they struggled down the stretch, losing nine of their last eleven games. The Flyers were just 27th in goals scored last year and they were 18th in goals against. Samuel Ersson is the starting goalie for the Flyers after he posted a .890 save percentage and 2.82 goals against average last year. Travis Konecny led the Flyers last year with 33 goals and 35 assists.

Philadelphia went 4-3 in the preseason this year, as they picked up wins against Washington, New York, Boston, and New Jersey. The Flyers also lost to Montreal, New York, and Boston, and they dropped two of their last three games.

Vancouver Canucks Betting Preview

The Vancouver Canucks are 0-0-1 this season after they lost to Calgary by a score of 6-5 in their first game. Vancouver jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and led 4-1 after the first period, but the offense stalled out after that. The Canucks led 4-2 in the third period but allowed three goals and needed a late goal to force overtime, where they lost. Vancouver was outshot by a total of 26-24, recorded 13 hits, and went 2-4 on the power play in the game. Brock Boeser led the Canucks with two goals and three shots on goal, while Silovs saved 20 out of 26 shots in the loss.

Vancouver looked very impressive in their first game’s first period, but they struggled to generate scoring chances in the second and third periods. Defensively, the Canucks have to be better, as allowing five regulation goals against a bad Calgary team is not a good sign. The Canucks will play against the Lightning, Panthers, Flyers, and Blackhawks following this game.

Philadelphia Flyers vs Vancouver Canucks Prediction

Vancouver comes into this game with the benefit of already playing a game, but they will try to bounce back after blowing a 4-1 lead in the loss. I wasn’t sold on the Vancouver goaltender situation coming into the season and Silovs struggled in that game. Philadelphia ended the 23-24 season playing some very poor hockey and I have some concerns about their lineup coming into this season. I think we could see another high-scoring game here and I am going to fade the Canucks goalies with the Over here.
