Tennessee trailed 15-13 late in the fourth quarter, but they kicked the game winning field goal as time expired. The Titans out gained Seattle by a total of 338-239 and went 5-15 on third down in the game. Mason Rudolph threw for 125 yards and one score, while Malik Willis threw for 116 yards and one interception. Julius Chestnut rushed for 45 yards on 13 carries. Tennessee defeated San Francisco by a score of 17-13 in their first game. 

Tennessee went 2-1 in the preseason last year, which began with a 23-17 loss against Chicago. The Titans bounced back with a 24-16 win over Minnesota and beat New England by a score of 23-7 in the third game. We should see Will Levis and the starters for at least some of this game, but Rudolph and Willis will get the majority of snaps.

The New Orleans Saints are 1-1 this preseason after they lost to San Francisco by a score of 16-10 last week. New Orleans led 7-0 early in the second quarter, but they only managed three points the rest of the way for the loss. The Saints were out gained by a total of 315-271 and turned the ball over once in the game. Jake Haener threw for 76 yards, Derek Carr threw for 47 yards, and Spencer Rattler threw for 27 yards in the game. Jordan Mims rushed for 37 yards on 10 carries in the loss. New Orleans defeated Arizona by a score of 16-14 in their first game. 

New Orleans went 2-1 in the 2023 preseason, which included wins over Kansas City (26-24) and the Chargers (22-17), and a 17-13 loss against the Texans in the finale. Derek Carr’s status for this game is up in the air, but Haener and Rattler will get most of the snaps under center. 

Tennessee Titans vs New Orleans Saints Prediction 

Tennessee comes into this game after winning two very close games against the Seahawks and 49ers, as they have a combined winning margin of just five points. The Titans have played very strong defense in the first two weeks, but the offense has only averaged 16.5 points. New Orleans has been very similar in regards to offensive output, as they are averaging 13 points in the first two games. I think the Titans have a pretty big backup quarterback advantage with Rudolph and Willis, so my Tennessee Titans vs New Orleans Saints prediction is for the Titans to cover.
