The San Francisco 49ers enter the 2026 season looking to make another deep postseason run under Kyle Shanahan following a 12-5 campaign in 2025 that ended in the Divisional Round with a thud in a 41-6 loss to Seattle. During the 2026 offseason, general manager John Lynch retooled the receiving core by signing Mike Evans and bringing back Deebo Samuel Sr., while trading for defensive lineman Osa Odighizuwa to strengthen the interior front. In the draft, San Francisco selected Washington State target De’Zhaun Stribling in the second round to add immediate depth to the passing attack. Backed by an established foundation of Purdy, McCaffrey, and Bosa, the 49ers head into 2026 aiming to capture the NFC West title and make a return trip to the Super Bowl.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams Prediction
I’m on the Rams in this one. I get the case to be made for the 49ers as historically, this has been a head-to-head matchup where betting on the underdog has worked out well. However, this is a matchup that’s also turned on it’s head in recent years, with the Rams owning a lot of the head-to-head meetings as of late. I know a lot of focus may be on this new revamped Rams unit, but I think in the end, the Rams still have the better pieces to get it done here so give me the Rams.
