The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks meet Wednesday in NFL action at Lumen Field. Here’s a New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks Prediction. This article will include a New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks Pick.
New England Patriots Betting Preview
The Patriots improved their win total by 10 games and made the Super Bowl. The Patriots have made the Super Bowl in 5 of their last 8 playoff appearances. We’ll now get the encore under Mike Vrabel in his second season.
Drake Maye took a step last season and could be the Pats’ next franchise quarterback. He has a couple of new toys in wide receivers A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs. Tight end Hunter Henry is coming off a strong season, and you can do worse than an RB duo of Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson. The offensive line was also upgraded and should do a better job of protecting Maye.
Defensively, Christian Gonzalez leads a strong Patriots secondary along with Kevin Byard. The addition of Dre’Mont Jones strengthens what was a hit-or-miss defensive front last season. It will be interesting to see if this side of the ball improves under the young defensive coordinator Zak Kuhr.
You can argue the Patriots are even better than they were last season with the additions on defense and the improved skill positions. We’ll see if a Super Bowl hangover happens or if this group can handle the pressure now that they’re the hunted and no longer the hunter.
Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview
The Seattle Seahawks are coming off a Super Bowl title and have to believe they can make a rare run at a repeat. Mike Macdonald is in his third season as head coach, and there’s a new offensive playcaller in Brian Fleury.
The offense is pretty much the same unit as last year outside of running back Kenneth Walker III. Sam Darnold is at quarterback; rookie Jadarian Price will get a ton of playing time out of the gate. The offensive line remains intact, and there’s an elite wide receiver group in Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, and Rashid Shaheed. As long as Darnold doesn’t turn into a pumpkin, the Seahawks should be an above-average offense.
Defensively, the Seahawks lost some pieces from an elite unit, but the core is still in place with Devon Witherspoon, DeMarcus Lawrence, Leonard Williams, and Ernest Jones. The injury to Bud Clark does sting a bit, as he’s a rookie who was expected to play out of the gate. This Seahawks defense is still strong, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see another run at a title given the balance of the roster.

New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks Prediction
You can talk yourself into the Patriots and the points, as it’s an obvious revenge factor, and teams on ring night can come out a bit sluggish. There’s a lot of celebrating and gushing going on, and it could take some time for guys to lock in and handle business.
However, the Super Bowl wasn’t competitive, and despite the Patriots improving on both sides of the ball, I’m not sure the gap was closed enough. Lumen Field is still a tough place to play, and that Seahawks defense is still one of the best in the league. The Seahawks have one of the top receiving cores as well, and the Patriots are working with a new defensive coordinator. I would need more points to give the Patriots a fair look. Give me the Seahawks by a touchdown.
