In this article we will formulate an Eagles vs Chiefs prediction for this NFL game on Sunday, September 14th at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this week 2 matchup.

Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview

The Philadelphia Eagles are 1-0 this season after they defeated Dallas by a score of 24-20 in their first game. Philadelphia was tied at seven after the first quarter and they led 21-20 at the half. The Eagles were able to kick a field goal halfway through the third quarter to extend the lead, which was the last of the scoring in the win. Philadelphia was out gained by a total of 307-302, went 8-13 on third downs, and won the turnover battle by a total of 1-0. Jalen Hurts went 19-23 for 152 yards, while also rushing for 62 yards and two scores on 14 carries. Saquon Barkley rushed 18 times for 60 yards and one touchdown, while Jahan Dotson caught three passes for 59 yards in the game. The Philadelphia defense was led by Zack Baun, who had nine total tackles, while the team recorded zero sacks and three tackles for loss.

Philadelphia had more trouble with Dallas in their first game than most people thought they would, but the defense clamped down in the second half to get the win. The Eagles were out gained by the Cowboys, but they were very strong on the ground and actually ran for more yards than they passed for. It’s never easy to beat a divisional rival, but I am a little concerned about that first half defense.

Kansas City Chiefs Betting Preview

The Kansas City Chiefs are 0-1 this year after they lost to the Chargers by a score of 27-21 last week. Kansas City did not play well in the first half and they trailed 13-6 at halftime. The Chiefs did cut the deficit to 13-12 in the third quarter and 20-18 in the fourth, but the Chargers put the game away with a late touchdown. KC was out gained by a total of 394-347, went 5-14 on third down conversions, and tied the turnover battle at zero. Patrick Mahomes went 24-39 for 258 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 57 yards and one score on six carries. Hollywood Brown caught 10 passes for 99 yards, while Isiah Pacheco ran five times for 25 yards in the game. The Kansas City defense was led by Chamarri Conner, who had 10 total tackles, while the team recorded three sacks and six tackles for loss.

Kansas City struggled defensively in their week one loss, as they allowed nearly 400 total yards in the game. The Chiefs did adjust in the second half, but a missed extra point caused them to chase down the stretch. We know Mahomes is always dangerous, but they need the running game to be strong, as they have a bunch of WR injuries.

Eagles vs Chiefs Prediction

Philadelphia comes into this matchup looking to start the season with a 2-0 record, but you know they are going to get KC’s best shot here, especially after the Super Bowl last season. I think these two teams are very even when healthy, but the KC injuries at the receiver spot are going to be a problem. It is never easy to win at Arrowhead, but I just have more faith in Hurts and the Eagles offense than I do in Kansas City’s. Take the Eagles to cover here.

David Racey's Pick: Eagles -1.5
