-A summary that ties it all together and produces a favorable betting outcome for Today’s Game between the Chiefs and Broncos.

Broncos Are Struggling

The Broncos are suddenly struggling heading into this game and they have lost two games in a row. Two games ago against the LA Chargers, they lost 34-27 and in the last game against the Cincinnati Bengals, they lost 30-24. They were able to force overtime in the last game, but it wasn’t enough and they ended up losing by six points. Even though they lost,  rookie Bo Nix had another strong game completing 24 of his 31 passes for 219 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Jaleel McLaughin did have a strong game finishing with 10 carries for 69 yards. Wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr stepped up catching eight passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns. At times he has been inconsistent since coming into the league, but maybe Mims is coming into his own.

The good news for the Broncos is they know if they pick up a win here, that they are in the playoffs. The Broncos are averaging 24.2 points while their defense is giving up 19.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 10th in the league while the defense is ranked 5th. On the season, Nix has thrown for 3,454 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

Can Carson Wentz Lead the Chiefs to Victory?

All signs are pointing toward the Chiefs starting Carson Wentz in this game, and although this win doesn’t mean a whole lot in terms of playoff seeding or anything like that, knocking the Broncos out of the playoffs would probably feel good. In the last game, the Chiefs faced off against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and they were able to secure a 29-10 victory. At the end of the first quarter, they were up 13-0 and they never looked back on the way to the victory. Patrick Mahomes completed 29 of his 38 passes for 320 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Kareem  Hunt was the top rusher finishing with  20 yards, and a more balanced run attack in this game.

The Chiefs on the season are averaging 24.06 points per game while their defense is giving up 18 points per game. The offense is ranked 11th in the league while the defense is ranked 2nd. Even though the Chiefs might be resting players don’t let that fool you, this is a game that they want to win no doubt.

Why the Chiefs Will Cover Against  the Broncos

  • The Chiefs have won each of their last 11 games when playing with a rest advantage.
  • The Broncos have lost each of their last four games when playing with a rest disadvantage against the Chiefs.
  • The Chiefs have covered the spread in 11 of their last 12 games as road underdogs against AFC opponents.
  • The Broncos have failed to cover the spread in four of their last five January games as home favorites against AFC opponents.
  • The Broncos have lost the first quarter in five of their last six Sunday games at Empower Field at Mile High.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Broncos Prediction

Yes, the Chiefs are going to be resting a ton of players, but don’t let that fool you, I think they are going to find a way to at least keep this game competitive. Wentz is not a Patrick Mahomes, but I expect he’s going to run a solid offense here, and the Chiefs are going to find some success scoring. Yes, the Broncos are still probably going to win this game outright, and they will make the playoffs, which is all their fans care about, but the Chiefs will keep this one close. Back the Chiefs against the spread here.
