With Trevor Lawrence out the last couple of weeks, the Jaguars have turned to Mac Jones, and the results have been less than stellar. Two games ago against the Minnesota Vikings, they ended up losing 12-7 and in the last game against the Detroit Lions, they ended up losing 52-6. Against the Lions, Mac Jones completed 17 of his 29 passes for 138 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. 

Trevor Lawrence has returned to practice and the hope is that he will be back for this game. Brian Thomas Jr did have a strong game in the last game putting up 52 yards, and he has to have confidence with the way this season has gone. Overall this season, the Jaguars are averaging 18.9 points while their defense is giving up 28.7 points per game. The offense is ranked 25th in the league while the defense is ranked 70th. Overall this season, Trevor Lawrence has thrown for 2,004 yards, 11 touchdowns, and six interceptions. 

What is Wrong With the Texans?

After so much success last season, and the Texans getting out to a fast start there was so much hope for this team, but the last couple of weeks haven’t been great. The Texans have lost three of the last four games and that included a loss against the Tennessee Titans. CJ Stroud completed 20 of his 33 passes for 247 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Nico Collins also finished with five catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. The problem though was the defense really struggled giving up 32 points. The defense made Will Levis look good, and that is a major problem. The Texans are averaging 23.8 points while their defense is giving up 22.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 12th while the defense is ranked 15th. 

Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars Prediction

Assuming Trevor Lawrence is healthy, I don’t know how we are laying any points with the Texans here. Houston’s defense has been a major issue heading into this game and they are going to really struggle here. The Texans' defense is going to make the Jaguars' offense look really good, and that is going to be the difference here as Houston is going to come out on top. Back the Jaguars to keep it within a field goal.
