Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Preview
Jacksonville got off to an 0-4 start this year with losses to the Dolphins, Browns, Bills, and Texans. The Jags won two of the next three over the Colts and Patriots, but since have lost three more to the Packers, Eagles, and Vikings.
In the Vikings game, the Jaguars were up 7-3 after one quarter. Jacksonville got shut out the rest of the way, however, and lost 12-7 in the end. Mac Jones threw for 111 yards and two picks with a rush score. Evan Engram caught six balls for 40 yards to lead the receivers.
Detroit Lions Betting Preview
Over on the Lions’ side, they lost their second game 20-16 versus the Buccaneers. That’s been Detroit’s only blemish, though. It’s been winning over the Rams, Cardinals, Seahawks, Cowboys, Vikings, Titans, Packers and Texans otherwise.
Matched up against Houston in their last outing, the Lions were in trouble with a 23-7 halftime deficit. Detroit woke up after the break, however, and took a 26-23 comeback victory. Jared Goff threw a whopping five picks with 240 yards and two scores. Sam LaPorta caught a TD among his three grabs for 66 yards.

Jaguars vs Lions Prediction
I might take a stab at the Jaguars here. Last weekend QB Trevor Lawrence’s absence due to injury (non-throwing shoulder) didn’t seem to make much difference in the margin of defeat. Granted, Jacksonville was still even worse than usual offensively with just 143 yards (87 passing), 10 first downs, and three turnovers. Oddly enough, however, the Jags only lost by five points. It was their third consecutive one-score defeat.
As for Detroit, they played down to their opponent on Sunday, giving away five picks as they killed drive after drive. Otherwise, the Lions played quite well, giving up just 248 yards (192 passing) and 16 first downs. I’m probably staying away from this one, but the Jaguars have nothing to lose and may play aggressively enough to cover.
