-The Falcons' recent form and recent player performance

-Recent Betting trends and streaks involving New Orleans

-Recent Betting trends and streaks involving Atlanta

-Recent betting trends in games played between New Orleans and Atlanta

-A summary that ties it all together and produces a favorable betting outcome for Today’s Game between the Saints and Vikings.

The Falcons Fell Short in the Last Game

The Falcons come into this game with a 1-2 record overall and they fell short in the last game against the Kansas City Chiefs. At halftime, the Falcons were up 14-13, but in the second half they scored only three points and that led to the defeat. Kirk Cousins completed 20 of his 29 passes for 230 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. One issue for the Falcons is they didn’t find a whole lot of success on the ground. Bijan Robinson finished with 16 carries for 31 yards. Tyler Allgeier finished with seven carries for 32 yards. Drake London had a strong game finishing with six catches for 67 yards and a touchdown.

The Falcons are averaging 16.3 points while their defense is giving up 20.3 points per game. The offense is ranked 26th in the league while the defense is ranked 13th in the league. They are giving up only 1.0 points per game in the 1st quarter which is the best in football.

How Do the Saints Bounce Back?

The Saints dominated the first two games of the season, but they really struggled in the last game against the Philadelphia Eagles. In the first game against the Carolina Panthers, they scored 47 points and in the second game against the Dallas Cowboys, they scored 44 points. In the last game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Saints scored only 12 points, and they ended up losing by three points. Heading into the 4th quarter they were up 3-0, but they gave up 15 points, and that led to the defeat. Derek Carr completed 14 of his 25 passes for 142 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Alvin Kamara finished with 26 carries for 87 yards. Chris Olave finished with six carries for 86 yards and a touchdown.

The Saints overall are averaging 34.3 points while their defense is giving up 14.7 points per game. The offense is ranked 26th in the league while the defense is ranked 13th. In this game, the Saints need to find a way to get the offense going earlier.

Why the Saints Will Beat the Falcons

  • The Saints have won each of their last four Sunday games as road underdogs.
  • The Falcons have lost five of their last six Week 4 games as favorites.
  • The Saints have covered the spread in 12 of their last 13 games played as underdogs on the East Coast.
  • The Falcons have failed to cover the spread in eight of their last nine September games as favorites.
  • The Falcons have lost the first quarter in each of their last two Week 4 games as home favorites.
  • The Falcons have lost the first half in each of their last three September games against NFC opponents.

New Orleans Saints vs Atlanta Falcons Prediction

I will take the Saints here. The Saints' offense wasn’t as good in the last game, but I don’t trust the Atlanta Falcons defense here. I also don’t trust Kirk Cousins, and Cousins is going to really struggle here. The Saints are going to get a good game from Derek Carr and that will be the difference here as the Saints are going to end up on top in this game. Back the Saints against the spread here.

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.
