Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Preview
The Buccaneers managed a tepid 9-8 overall record in 2023. Oddly enough however, that would put Tampa Bay in first place among the NFC South. The Bucs followed up their division championship with a Wild Card win over the Eagles 32-9 but lost in the next round to the Lions 31-23.
Matched up against the Bengals in their first preseason game last weekend, the Buccaneers outscored Cincinnati 10-7 in the second half to eke out a 17-14 win. QB Kyle Trask finished with 144 yards and a pick. Ryan Miller led the receivers on his three catches for 42 yards.
Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Preview
Over on the Jaguars’ side, they got off to a nice start at 8-3 last year. Jacksonville would eventually implode among injuries and spotty play, ending the campaign at 9-8. The Jags landed in second place among the AFC South and missed the playoffs.
The Jaguars took on the reigning champ Kansas City Chiefs in their first preseason action this year. Jacksonville scored points in every quarter on the way to a 26-13 win. QB Trevor Lawrence went 3-for-4, notching 42 yards and a TD. Josiah Deguara caught three balls for 42 yards.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Jacksonville Jaguars Prediction
I’ll probably just stay with Jacksonville. The Jags looked pretty solid in their preseason opener, notching 348 total yards (246 passing), 6.2 yards per play, no turnovers and 18 first downs. The third-down efficiency wasn’t spectacular (3-of-11) but the team was steady overall. Defensively Jacksonville was able to notch five sacks and held KC to 158 passing yards.
Looking ahead to 2024, the Jaguars have a great shot at getting to the postseason. Lawrence will have a lot to do with their success or failure, though. After 14 interceptions and 12 fumbles last year—not to mention no Calvin Ridley—Lawrence has plenty to work on. Still, if the chemistry is there the Jaguars offense should take a step forward statistically this season.
