Hooker led the Lions in rushing with 34 rushing yards while Sione Vaki had 29 rushing yards. Isaiah Williams led Detroit’s offense in receiving with 4 receptions for 35 yards while Donovan Peoples-Jones had his lone reception go for 26 yards. Patrick Mahomes threw for 27 yards on 3 of 4 passing while Chris Oladokun led the Chiefs with 85 passing yards on 7 of 10 passing. Ian Book had 46 passing yards on 8 of 9 passing and Carson Wentz went 4 for 4 for 26 yards while Carson Steele had a team-high 29 rushing yards and KC’s lone touchdown in the losing effort. Nikko Remigio led the Chiefs’ receiving group with 3 grabs for 35 yards while Cornell Powell also had 3 receptions for 24 receiving yards. On defense, Keith Taylor Jr. led the Chiefs with 6 total tackles while Cole Christiansen and Jack Cochrane each had a sack in the losing effort.

Lions vs. Chiefs Prediction

I’m on the under here. I think the Lions are really top heavy in terms of the talent gap between their first stringers and depth pieces, and we likely aren’t going to see any starters here either so I think another flat performance could be in store for Detroit offensively. On the other side, Kansas City lost one of their big offseason acquisitions, Hollywood Brown, for multiple weeks with a shoulder injury suffered in the Jaguars game, so to avoid losing anyone else, I could see the Chiefs being cautious here as well and maybe keeping a lot of first-stringers out themselves. All in all, I think this is going to epitomize a preseason game and finish as a low-scoring battle, so give me the under here.
