The San Antonio Spurs invade the Scotiabank Arena to take on the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.
San Antonio Spurs Betting Preview
The San Antonio Spurs have been on fire as they’ve won 14 of their last 17 games overall and they will be eager to build on their current nine-game win streak after blowing past the Pistons in a 114-103 road win on Monday. Devin Vassell led the team with 28 points on 10 of 14 shooting, Victor Wembenyama tallied 21 points with 17 rebounds, four assists and six blocks while Julian Champagnie chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Spurs shot just 42 percent from the field and 18 of 40 from the 3-point line as they caught fire with 33 points in the second quarter to take a narrow lead into halftime, before they used a 13-2 run in the third quarter to pull ahead by double digits and secure the gritty road win.
Toronto Raptors Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in great shape as they’ve won five of their last eight games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after having their two-game win streak snapped by the Thunder in a 116-107 loss last night. RJ Barrett led the team with 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists on eight of 15 shooting, Immanuel Quickley and Ja’Kobe Walter each scored 17 points while Scottie Barnes chipped in with 15 points, seven assists and four blocks. As a team, the Raptors shot 47 percent from the field and 18 of 38 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 32 points in the first quarter to take a 10-point lead, but it didn’t last long at all as they allowed a total of 73 points in the second and third quarters combined to trail by as many as 25 points at one stage.
San Antonio v Toronto Free Prediction
The Spurs are still missing Mason Plumlee, while the Raptors are still keeping an eye on Jakob Poeltl who is day to day with a back injury. These two teams met at the start of the season with the Spurs rolling to a 121-103 win back on Oct 27. The Spurs have continued their strong play and are currently in their best form of the season with all their key players healthy, while the Raptors were starting to build some momentum before they got stopped by the shorthanded Thunder in their last outing. The line is reasonable for this matchup, so I will stick with the more consistent Spurs to earn the win and cover on the road.
Peter Tran's Pick: San Antonio -7.5
