The Philadelphia 76ers have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last eight games and they will be eager to build some momentum after sneaking past the Celtics in a 102-100 home win on Tuesday. Justin Edwards led the team in scoring with 22 points on eight of nine shooting off the bench, Tyrese Maxey tallied 21 points with nine assists, Quentin Grimes scored 18 points while Andre Drummond chipped in with 14 points and 13 rebounds. As a team, the 76ers shot just 42 percent from the field and 14 of 36 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble when they wasted an early 12-point lead to fall behind by eight points in the fourth quarter, before they rallied back to steal the game at the buzzer thanks to Kelly Oubre Jr who made the tip shot.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been on fire as they’ve won 10 of their first 12 games of the season and they will be eager to build on their current eight-game win streak after running past the Bulls in a 124-113 home win on Wednesday. Paul Reed led the team with 28 points, 13 rebounds and six assists on 11 of 13 shooting, Duncan Robinson drained seven 3-pointers to contribute 23 points on eight of 13 shooting while Daniss Jenkins chipped in with 18 points and 12 assists. As a team, the Pistons shot a healthy 55 percent from the field and 13 of 30 from the 3-point line as they caught fire early with 68 points in the first half to take a 23-point lead which was more than enough to hold off a late rally from the Bulls.

The 76ers are still missing Joel Embiid and Paul George with VJ Edgecombe also listed as questionable, while the Pistons are keeping eyes on Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duren who are both questionable for this one. The 76ers were able to steal a good win over the Celtics on Tuesday thanks to some role players stepping up, but it’s the Pistons who come into this one as favorites at home despite the injury cloud hanging over Cunningham. This is probably a good spot for the 76ers to steal a win against a Pistons team that could be vulnerable here, but the Pistons have quietly been one of the hottest teams in the league and I think they can maintain their momentum with a narrow win and cover at home.
