Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Preview
The Thunder have topped 60 wins in three straight seasons and have made three straight deep playoff runs. OKC enters year seven under coach Mark Daigneault.
We’re starting to see what happens when teams win as rosters get full, cap sheets get lengthy, and moves are forced. The Thunder said goodbye to depth pieces Luguentz Dort, Isaiah Joe, and Aaron Wiggins. Not much was done to replace those guys. Still, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is arguably the best player in the league, and a healthy Jalen Williams would go a long way. We’ll see what happens with Chet Holmgren after a rough playoff showing. The Thunder also have to replace the defense that they lost in Dort and the outside shooting of the other departures. The Thunder still have one of the more complete rosters in the league, but there are some chinks in the armor for the first time in a while.
San Antonio Spurs Betting Preview
The Spurs won 62 games and lost the Finals last season, and they enter year three under coach Mitch Johnson. The Spurs won the title the next season; the last time they lost in the Finals, so maybe that’s a positive sign.
The Spurs are pretty much the same team they were a season ago outside of adding veteran Tobias Harris. Victor Wembanyama is an MVP candidate who is still getting better, while a backcourt of Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle is blossoming into something with legit potential. I’m out on De’Aaron Fox after the playoffs, but he’s still a veteran who can produce at a decent clip. The Spurs keep rolling out a three-guard lineup, and time will tell if the defense can hold up. The Spurs are built for another deep run and have legitimate championship aspirations. With Wemby and a young, promising core, the Spurs will have another chance at their bite at the apple.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs San Antonio Spurs Prediction
The Spurs should get the benefit of the doubt at home, and they’ve won 6 of the last 9 games against the Thunder. OKC also lost a few depth pieces, which makes them a bit more vulnerable than in years past. However, the Thunder are still a legit title contender, and you’re not going to get them as an underdog often.
The Thunder have also been one of the league’s top money makers over the last two or three years. This is also a revenge game for the Thunder if you like to factor those edges into your cap. I was on the Spurs all of last season, and it paid off. They’re great. You’re just not going to get OKC as a dog much this season. I’ll take advantage of it while I can.
