Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Preview
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been tested to start the season, but they are now gunning for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Pacers in a thrilling 141-135 double overtime road win on Thursday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with a career-high 55 points, eight rebounds and five assists on 15 of 31 shooting, Ajay Mitchell added 26 points off the bench, Aaron Wiggins tallied 23 points with nine rebounds while Chet Holmgren chipped in with 15 points and 12 rebounds. As a team, the Thunder shot 45 percent from the field and 10 of 35 from the 3-point line as they battled the Pacers in a tight contest that went back and forth until the second overtime where the Thunder went on a crucial 11-2 run to come away with their second consecutive double-overtime win to start the season.
Atlanta Hawks Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have split their first two games of the season and they will be eager to build some momentum after last night’s 111-107 road win over the Magic. Trae Young led the team with 25 points and six assists on seven of 18 shooting, Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 19 points on eight of 18 shooting while Onyeka Okongwu chipped in with 17 points, three assists and three blocks. As a team, the Hawks shot 48 percent from the field and eight of 29 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sluggish start and looked to be in trouble when they leaked 37 points in the second quarter to trail by as many as 14 points, but they stayed within striking distance and went on a pivotal 15-0 run in the fourth quarter to flip the script and come away with the gritty comeback victory on the road.
Oklahoma City v Atlanta Free Prediction
The Thunder are going to be shorthanded once again as Jalen Williams, Alex Caruso and Isaiah Joe are ruled out with Chet Holmgren and Cason Wallace ruled as questionable, while the Hawks are missing Kristaps Porzingis and Zaccharie Risacher. The Thunder won both meetings over the Hawks last season by double digits, so it’s easy to see why the Thunder are favorites on the road in this spot, but they failed to cover in both of their games so far this season and I think we might see a similar result in this one. The Hawks are playing on zero days rest, but I don’t see that being a factor so early in the season. I like the Thunder to take care of business and escape with the win behind another big game from Gilgeous-Alexander, but I think the Hawks do enough to keep it close right till the end.
