The Miami Heat have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their past six games overall but they will be hoping to bounce back here after having their three-game win streak halted by the Cavaliers in a 130-116 loss on Wednesday. Norman Powell led the team with 27 points on 10 of 18 shooting, Andrew Wiggins added 17 points with nine rebounds and six assists, Davion Mitchell scored 16 points while Kel’el Ware chipped in with 15 points and 13 rebounds on six of seven shooting. As a team, the Heat shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 37 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 38 points in the first quarter to lead for most of the contest, until they went cold and got rolled by 37-19 in the fourth quarter to lose by double digits in the end. Jaime Jacquez Jr has been on a roll for the Heat but had just 11 points on four of 15 shooting while Nikola Jovic finished with just two points on one of six shooting. 

New York Knicks Betting Preview 

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks were on a tear as they were riding a five-game win streak before they got stopped in their tracks by the Magic in a 124-107 loss on Wednesday. Jalen Brunson led the team with 31 points and six assists on 10 of 23 shooting, Karl-Anthony Towns added 15 points with 12 rebounds and four assists while Landry Shamet chipped in with 11 points off the bench. As a team, the Knicks shot just 44 percent from the field and 11 of 36 from the 3-point line as they started the game with low energy and were always fighting an uphill battle after getting outscored by 62-42 in the first half. Mikal Bridges scored just six points on three of nine shooting while Jordan Clarkson finished with just five points as the Knicks struggled on their second game of a back to back set. 

Miami v New York Free Prediction

The Heat are still missing Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, while the Knicks have ruled out Jalen Brunson for this one. The Knicks are expectedly favorites at home in this matchup given that they’ve been the hotter team, but they are a bit vulnerable without Brunson steering the offense. The Heat haven’t been at their best but they will be kicking themselves after losing to a depleted Cavaliers team on Wednesday and I think they can pull off the upset if someone like Jacquez Jr can have a big game. The Heat are still the more banged up team, but I think that Brunson is so crucial to their offense and it could cost them if this game goes down to the wire.
