The Charlotte Hornets play host to the Memphis Grizzlies at the Spectrum Center on Saturday night.
Memphis Grizzlies Betting Preview
The Memphis Grizzlies have been in a major slump as they’ve lost nine of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after coming up just short to the red-hot Celtics in a 117-112 loss last night. Tyler Burton led the team with 23 points on seven of 13 shooting off the bench, Ty Jerome added 16 points with seven assists while Olivier Maxence-Propser chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 47 percent from the field and 14 of 43 from the 3-point line as they took the fight to the Celtics and poured in 34 points in the third quarter to take a seven-point lead in the fourth quarter, before they got outscored by 26-14 in the final 8:22 to allow the Celtics off the hook in the end.
Charlotte Hornets Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets have been on a tear as they’ve won 10 of their last 13 games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after running past the Magic in a 130-111 win on Thursday. Coby White led the team with 27 points and five assists off the bench, Brandon Miller added 25 points with eight assists while LaMelo Ball chipped in with 20 points, six rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Hornets shot 53 percent from the field and 22 of 46 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start before they took full control of the contest with a 38-21 second quarter and they didn’t ease up until the lead ballooned to as many as 35 points.
Memphis v Charlotte Free Prediction
The Grizzlies are still missing a bunch of players including Ja Morant, Brandon Clarke, Santi Aldama, Zach Edey and GG Jackson, while the Hornets have ruled out Tidjane Salaun once again. These two squads last met on Jan 28 and it was the Hornets who cruised to a 112-97 win on the road and I am expecting a similar outcome in this one given the respective form of both teams. The Grizzlies deserve a lot of credit for how competitive they were against the red-hot Celtics last night, but it’s going to be tough to replicate that effort on zero days’ rest against one of the hottest teams in the league right now. The Hornets were always going to be heavy favorites in this matchup and I think they’re good enough to get the cover in this spot.
