Los Angeles Lakers vs Oklahoma City Thunder Player Prop Picks 4/8/25 NBA Picks

The Los Angeles Lakers (48-30) will travel to face the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder (64-14) on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Paycom Center, with tip-off set for 8:00 p.m. ET. The two teams have split their previous meetings this season, with the Thunder taking the first matchup 101-93 and the Lakers responding with a dominant 126-99 victory in the rematch. 

While Oklahoma City has already clinched the top seed in the West, the Lakers are still fighting to maintain their position near the top of the standings ahead of the playoffs. Both squads have key players listed on the injury report—LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves are all questionable for L.A., while Oklahoma City is without Nikola Topic and Ousmane Dieng, and Jaylin Williams is questionable.

Throughout the season, Reaves has demonstrated consistency, with a true shooting percentage of 61.4% and a three-point shooting percentage of 37.4%.  His contributions have been instrumental in the Lakers’ performance, especially during periods when key players were sidelined due to injuries. Reaves has scored 30+ points in 4 of his last 6 games, so he’s fully capable of getting over this number. He’s been one of my favorite money makers so far this season. 

Luguentz Dort Over 8.5 Points

Dort is averaging 9.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 42.4%. Dort’s three-point shooting has been a notable aspect of his offensive game, averaging 39.8% from beyond the arc. Dort has demonstrated consistency, playing and starting in 61 games, and averaging 29.2 minutes per game. Dort has scored 9+ points in 7 of his last 8 games. I’m surprised to see that the oddsmakers haven’t bumped up his line after he consistently gets over his point total.

Luka Doncic Over 26.5 Points

Luka Doncic is averaging 27.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 44.1%. Doncic led the Lakers with a 30-point performance in a commanding 126-99 victory over this same Oklahoma City Thunder team on Sunday. Luka has historically played well against this Thunder team. With him coming off back-to-back 30-point nights, I expect them to carry that momentum into this one.
