The Los Angeles Lakers have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their last five games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after taking down the Bulls in a 129-118 road win on Monday. Luka Doncic led the team with 46 points, seven rebounds and 12 assists, LeBron James added 24 points while Rui Hachimura chipped in with 23 points on nine of 11 shooting off the bench. As a team, the Lakers shot 56 percent from the field and 16 of 33 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running with 69 points in the first half to take a 13-point lead into halftime and they just kept making the most of open looks to push the lead out to 20 points at one stage.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been on a tear as they’ve won six of their last seven games overall and they will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after blowing past the Magic in a 114-98 win on Monday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 45 points on 15 of 25 shooting, Evan Mobley added 20 points with nine rebounds and two blocks while Jaylon Tyson chipped in with 14 points, nine rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 53 percent from the field and 11 of 25 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 39 points in the second quarter to overcome an early 11-point deficit, before they held the Magic to just 17 points in the fourth quarter to make it a complete blowout win at home.

The Lakers are still playing without the injured Austin Reaves, while the Cavaliers have ruled out Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Max Strus. The Lakers are coming into this game with plenty of momentum and their offense looked unstoppable at times in the big win over the Bulls on Monday, but it’s the Cavaliers who enter as the hotter team with six wins in their last seven outings despite still missing key players like Garland and now Mobley. The Lakers have been able to erase some big deficits in some of their recent wins, but that tactic could come back to bite them against this red-hot Cavaliers team. The injury to Mobley evens things out a bit, but I still think the Cavaliers get the win and cover at the short line behind another big game from Mitchell.
