Houston Rockets vs Minnesota Timberwolves Player Prop Picks 2/6/25 NBA Picks

The Rockets, currently third in the Western Conference, have been a surprising force this season. However, they are entering this matchup on a four-game losing streak, including a recent 99-97 defeat to the Brooklyn Nets, where Alperen Şengün recorded 24 points and 20 rebounds. 

The Timberwolves, positioned seventh in the Western Conference, have been inconsistent this season. They are 21st in the NBA in scoring, 16th in field goal shooting, and third in three-point shooting. Defensively, they rank fourth in points allowed per game. 

Alperen Sengun Under 10.5 Rebounds

Alperen Sengun has been a dominant force on the boards for the Houston Rockets during this NBA season. He’s averaging 10.6 rebounds per game, which ranks him 9th in the league. His rebounding efforts are distributed between 3.5 offensive rebounds and 7.1 defensive rebounds per game.

Sengun is coming off a game where he recorded 24 points and a season-high 20 rebounds in a narrow 99-97 loss to the Brooklyn Nets. This is a spot where I want to sell high on Sengun’s rebounds. He’ll be going up against this Timberwolves team that is one of the best rebounding teams in the league. Minnesota is only giving up 51.1 rebounds per game to opposing teams which is one of the fewest in the league. Sengun will be matched up with Rudy Gobert all game who is a presence in the paint. After a monster night on the boards, this is a good night to fade Sengun in a tough matchup.

Anthony Edwards Over 27.5 Points

Anthony Edwards has been a standout performer for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He’s averaging 26.5 points per game, which ranks him 7th in the league. In a notable performance on January 25, 2025, Edwards scored 38 points, leading the Timberwolves to a 120-115 victory over the Denver Nuggets. Throughout the season, Edwards’ scoring has been instrumental in the Timberwolves’ offensive success, showcasing his ability to consistently contribute and lead the team in scoring.

You might think that this is a bad matchup for Edwards going against this Houston Rockets defense but I expect him to have a big game. We’ve seen Edwards show out when he plays the tougher teams in the Western Conference. In a game that will have a lot of attention surrounding it, I expect Edwards to show out and score at least 30 points in this one. 

Mike Conley Under 5.5 Assists

Mike Conley has been a steady contributor to the Minnesota Timberwolves during this season. He has played in 45 games, averaging 8.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. In a notable performance on January 20, 2025, Conley scored 18 points, dished out 7 assists, and grabbed 4 rebounds in a 112-105 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. 

This is the spot that I want to fade Mike Conley on his assist. He’s coming off a really nice game against the Sacramento Kings where he dished out nine assists but now he has a much more difficult matchup going against the Houston Rockets. The Houston Rockets make it a nightmare for point guards to stack up stats. They only give up 22.7 assists per game to opposing teams which is the fewest in the whole league. This will be a tough game for Conley when it comes to facilitating the ball.
