The Denver Nuggets and the Indiana Pacers duke it out at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.

The Denver Nuggets have been in decent form as they’ve split their last eight games, but they will be eager to bounce back here after getting stopped by the depleted Mavericks in a 131-121 loss on Monday. Nikola Jokic led the team with a monster triple-double of 29 points with 20 rebounds and 13 assists, Spencer Jones added 28 points on 11 of 15 shooting while Peyton Watson chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Nuggets shot 47 percent from the field and 12 of 37 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 41 points in the first quarter to take an early 17-point lead, but they allowed the Mavericks back into the contest and it cost them in the fourth quarter where they got outscored by 29-17 to lose at home where they are now on a four-game losing streak.

Indiana Pacers Betting Preview 

Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have endured a terrible start to the season, but they looked like they were turning the corner with a couple solid wins before they got smashed by the Cavaliers by 135-119 on Monday. Pascal Siakam led the team with 26 points on 11 of 21 shooting, Andrew Nembhard added 21 points with six assists on seven of 11 shooting while Jay Huff and Garrison Matthews each scored 15 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 48 percent from the field and 10 of 30 from the 3-point line, but they had no answers for the Cavaliers on the defense end as the Pacers allowed 37 points in the first quarter to fall behind by 12 points going into halftime and things only got worse in the second half where they allowed 69 points.

The Nuggets are still missing Aaron Gordon, Christian Braun and Julian Strawther with Jamal Murray listed as questionable, while the Pacers have ruled out Aaron Nesmith, Kam Jons, Quenton Jackson and Tyrese Haliburton again. The Nuggets have cooled off slightly as they’ve been hit by injuries, but they still open as obvious favorites against this depleted Pacers squad. These teams last met on Nov 8 and it was the Nuggets who romped to a 117-100 win thanks to a triple-double from Jokic. The Pacers haven’t been playing as poorly as their record suggests, but I don’t think they have the firepower to go with these Nuggets while they’re missing so much talent. The line is reasonable for this one and the Nuggets are 8-2 on the road so far this season, so I will stick with the Nuggets to get the win and cover in this one.
